Mr Nick! Have you seen the paper yet today? They're claiming you and Mystic Maya broke into an apartment! I talked to the editor and she said that if you and Mystic Maya contact her correcting this terrible lie, she'll release a statement in the next paper.
[Well, nothing relatively awful has happened lately. The world hasn't ended, nor has anyone met an unfortunate death by Integra's Nazi vampire adversaries.
This, combined with an occasional desire for human contact (she is not above such things), gives Integra the resolve to contact Phoenix (mostly) guilt free.]
Phoenix. [There is some obvious trepidation in the timbre of her voice. After all, few people ever have to remake their friends.] I trust you have been well?
[After taking care of checking in on her two fellow Sailor Senshi, taking at least six lengthy showers to wash out the goop, Rei starts making the rounds, calling people up.
There's a sizable list, but Phoenix is near the top. Given that he'd been having an incredibly difficult time the last few days, she definitely wanted to make sure to check up on him. But she also didn't want to badger him immediately, and give him time to just hug it out with Trucy.]
Phoenix-san, please contact me when you get the chance.
[It really is a miracle Integra is able breathe once more. After this experience, she'll learn to become more appreciative of her own lungs.
Truth be told, it took her quite a while to recuperate-- finding herself reluctant to leave her own bed (even for work!), or to make her presence in the colony known. Which is why it might be something of a surprise for Phoenix to hear the doorbell ring and find the winsome Sir Hellsing on his doorstep.
Her own trials in the jungle made her concerned, really. She was trained to deal with the unexpected, he was not. Hence why she finally mustered the resolve to come and check on him.
God, please don't let him be in too bad of condition, she hoped.]
[ Waking up in her own bed, with air shockingly thick compared to the thin air of that other place, is a shock. At least it means that she can throw off her covers and run to the other room in the apartment, though. And Trucy wastes absolutely no time in doing just that, slamming her door open without a single care for the noise it makes and ripping open the door to Phoenix's room. Usually she doesn't barge into his room without knocking or asking...mostly.
This is an exception, because she hasn't seen him since the jungle and she's been worried. ]
Daddy!! [ Regardless of his current state of being awake, he has an incoming tackle-hug. ]
[Edgeworth had just returned from his...second trip back home since arriving in this blasted colony, and he had to sit through that bloody powerpoint presentation again. He had considered making a public network post, but that would probably draw too much attention. Too much attention was the last thing he needed after the last several events he had been through back home.
Instead, he chooses to call someone...someone who had made an impact on those events unknowingly.]
Wright. I assume you've noticed, but...I returned to our home world briefly. For several days.
[From his experience, Phoenix usually has a good idea what's going on (even if he keeps it to himself, THE JERK), and that coupled with his shiny lawyer status again...anyway, this seems like a good place to start.]
( What with the influx of spirits inside the colony, Integra makes no hesitation to place this call. She did not harbour the same sadness witnessed upon their last encounter; only urgency, and a stifled trace of fear. )
Phoenix. When you first arrived, I handed you a cross. Do you still have it?
( Pls don't die of ghosts Phoenix, that's all she asks. )
[so bad as this world it, there's a couple good things in it. one of the best things happens to be a brand of chicken noodle soup. soup isn't his favorite food ever, but this one hits the spot so right. although it doesn't make up for all the crazy things that try to kill you, it makes living here a little more bearable.
needless to say, approaching the soup aisle in the grocery store and seeing the last one of the stuff makes him feel like the luckiest guy in the world. riku can't help but grin as he makes a beeline for his prize. jackpot.]
[As weak and tired as Iris had been for the last several weeks...there was a strange, almost renewed source of strength to her voice. Though heavily tinged with concern.]
I promise someday we're going to actually have a conversation where I know what I'm doing and not panicking about something. [A beat.] The jungle doesn't count, I just mean...whatever. Hi. Doing okay after the whole ghost thing?
