It's okay. I thought you might not know. It all happened so long ago, before you were even a prosecutor.

In fact, it was at the beginning of my law career. She lost her life to one Redd White, and it was the first case I took on by myself. I had to defend her sister, Maya.

It seems you and I have more than a few unfortunate things in common. Were you able to prove her sister's innocence?

If I hadn't, I don't think I would have been able to go on as a lawyer. So yes, I did. : ) And Maya Fey went on to be my first assistant, for most of the time before my disbarment.

She's here in this place too. Just... not exactly the right age.

Yes, and there's more where that came from too. Maya's case is particularly odd since she only seems to remember the first few cases we worked on together.

Yet there seems to be no such discrepancies with anyone else I've spoken to...

It's odd, isn't it? Aside from Edgeworth, most of us who were involved in that one case were taken from not long after it.

And for some reason, Athena and Prosecutor Edgeworth arrived before any of the rest of us. I don't know if there are meaningful decisions behind who CERES saves, or what point in time their code is pulled from, but it is worth noting.

Yes, I've noticed that, too. It's definitely something we'll have to consider as we try to look into what's up with this organization.

That reminds me that I also heard that before we came, Prosecutor Gavin was here as well. And he was also from the past... But he's apparently not here anymore.

I heard the same. It isn't reassuring, to know people can simply vanish without a trace, when we're supposedly safe here.

Rather than delve into morbid speculation in the midst of the night, however, we'd best save such talk for another time. I'll leave you and Charley to your beauty sleep.
